The legendary Third World band can add Goodwill Reggae Ambassadors to their resume. The group was recently signed by the Issa Trust Foundation – the non-profit arm of Couples Resorts Jamaica. In making the announcement, Diane Pollard, president and CEO, stated, “It is fitting that, on the anniversary of last year’s very successful fundraising concert, ‘An Evening with Air Supply and Third World’ featuring Koffee, that the hosts of the event, the Issa Trust Foundation, is announcing that the legendary Third World has come on board as Goodwill Reggae Ambassadors for the foundation as they continue the work being done to enrich the lives of children in Jamaica.”…   Full Article Here

It is fitting that, on the Anniversary of last year’s very successful fundraising concert ‘An Evening with Air Supply and Third World’ featuring Koffee, that the hosts of the event, the Issa Trust Foundation – the non-profit arm of Couples Resorts Jamaica – is announcing that the legendary Third World has come on board as Goodwill Reggae Ambassadors for the Foundation as they continue the work being done to enrich the lives of children in Jamaica.
 
Celebrating 46 years, Third World is one of the longest-lived Reggae bands of all time and one of Jamaica’s most consistently popular crossover acts among international audiences. Their style has been described as “reggae-fusion.” With 9 Grammy nominations and a catalogue of charted smash hits, including “Now That We Found Love”, “96 Degrees in the Shade” and “Try Jah Love”, spanning over four decades, sold-out tours, a vibrant and loyal fan base and inspirational messages, Third World is more than just one of the top Reggae Bands of all time, it is an institution whose themes are positive, progressive and internationally relevant.

THE ISSA Trust Foundation, the non-profit organisation of Couples Resorts Jamaica, has reacted with urgency to the medical needs of the Jamaican Government due to the COVID-19 pandemic by sourcing US$238,000 (J$32 million) in equipment and supplies for the country.

This donation will include two GE Ventilators (valued at J$3 million), a new portable X-ray Machine (valued at J$2 million) and a 40ft container of supplies and equipment (valued at J$27 million). The container donations will include a Draegar XL ventilator, suction machines, beds, stretchers, an ultrasound machine, infusion pumps, hand sanitiser, gowns, gloves, a CPAP machine, an ECG machine, along with many other essential items to assist with the current crisis.

ADDING to a well-documented history of assistance to the island’s health and education sectors, the Issa Trust Foundation, under the leadership of Chairman Paul Issa and the patronage of Sir Patrick and Lady Allen, has joined the fight against the new coronavirus.

The foundation, the non-profit arm of Couples Resorts Jamaica, has donated US$238,000 ($32 million) in equipment and supplies to the country in its COVID-19 response efforts.
