Serving to Make a Difference

The goal of every medical mission is to fulfill a child’s greatest wish – the chance to be healthy

The Issa Trust Foundation is pleased to announce today a team of health professionals led by Dr. Pat Brophy, University of Iowa Children’s Hospital and Kerri Cook, RN, Blank Children’s Hospital will be joining the Foundation’s efforts to actively improve the health of children in Jamaica this fall. Over the last nine years, we have developed a highly efficient process to provide pediatric medical care to as many children at the highest standard of care we can deliver. The Issa Trust Foundation plans to continue collaborating with hospitals and health centres and local organizations in Jamaica to identify health needs, partner to set health priorities for their community and facilitate collaborative strategies to help parishes in Jamaica to meet mortality goals as outlined by the UN. In addition, this year all children will receive free eye exams and receive their glasses, if needed at no cost, immediately that day of the exam.  We are thankful to the Michigan Lions for their time and donations!

The team will provide a series of free medical clinics for children in the parish of St. Mary.

Sue and I always talked about doing charitable work when our lives settled down and our own children were grown. We learned about Issa Trust while vacationing at Couples Negril. Then completely by coincidence we ran into Diane Pollard, CEO of Issa Trust, in the lobby of Couples Sans Souci on our next vacation. It was a random, life-changing twist of fate for all of us. – Greg Anderson, CEO, Connexin Software View Travelogue »
